Responsibilities
- Lead strategic technology roadmapping for 2026-2030, focusing on quantum-AI convergence and sustainable tech
- Direct cross-functional R&D teams developing proprietary algorithms for predictive market modeling
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions (MIT, Stanford, UT Austin) for emerging tech research
- Conduct competitive analysis of global tech trends and patent landscapes
- Present quarterly innovation briefings to C-suite and board stakeholders
- Manage $2M annual R&D budget with ROI-driven technology selection
- Mentor junior researchers in future-focused methodologies
Qualifications
- 10+ years in tech strategy or R&D leadership, with 5+ years focused on emerging technologies
- Proven track record in commercializing breakthrough innovations (patents or acquisitions)
- Expertise in at least two of: quantum computing, neuromorphic systems, carbon capture tech, or synthetic biology
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Physics, or Engineering (PhD preferred)
- Published research in IEEE Nature or equivalent tier journals
- Proficiency in scenario planning and technology forecasting methodologies
- Experience securing federal grants (DARPA, NSF) or venture capital for tech ventures
