What you'll do: Lead horizon-scanning initiatives, architect strategic technology frameworks, and collaborate with C-suite executives to position our company at the forefront of innovation. You'll manage a $10M R&D budget and mentor a cross-functional team of 15 technologists.
Responsibilities
- Conduct horizon-scanning research to identify emerging technologies with disruptive potential
- Develop and maintain a 10-year strategic technology roadmap aligned with business objectives
- Lead cross-functional innovation sprints with engineers, designers, and product managers
- Present findings and recommendations to executive stakeholders and boards
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions and tech startups
- Manage technology portfolio allocation and risk assessment frameworks
- Mentor emerging technology talent through Innovation Fellowship programs
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy, R&D management, or emerging tech consulting
- Proven track record developing multi-year technology roadmaps
- Expertise in at least two of: AI/ML, quantum computing, synthetic biology, or neurotech
- Experience with scenario planning and technology forecasting methodologies
- Strong financial acumen with budget management over $5M
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Published research or patents in emerging technology domains
