Responsibilities
- Develop 5-year technology roadmaps aligning with business objectives and market trends
- Lead cross-functional initiatives in emerging tech (quantum AI, synthetic biology, decentralized systems)
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive innovations and competitive threats
- Present strategic recommendations to executive stakeholders and investors
- Manage $10M+ R&D budgets for future technology incubation
- Build and mentor a high-performing innovation lab team
- Author thought leadership publications on 2026+ technological shifts
Qualifications
- 15+ years in strategic technology roles with 5+ years in futures planning
- Expertise in at least two emerging tech domains: quantum computing, AI ethics, or synthetic biology
- Proven track record of scaling technology ventures from concept to market
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business
- Certification in Futures Studies or Technology Foresight preferred
- Experience with scenario planning frameworks (e.g., Delphi method)
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
