Responsibilities
- Lead horizon scanning initiatives to identify disruptive technologies and market shifts impacting 2026+ landscapes
- Develop quantitative forecasting models and scenario-planning frameworks for strategic decision-making
- Partner with R&D teams to translate future insights into actionable innovation pipelines
- Deliver executive briefings and trend reports to guide corporate strategy and investment priorities
- Design and facilitate foresight workshops with global stakeholders to build organizational futures literacy
- Monitor geopolitical and socioeconomic variables that could accelerate or impede technology adoption
- Author thought leadership publications positioning Horizon as a future-focused industry authority
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Futures Studies, Strategic Foresight, Technology Forecasting, or related field
- Minimum 7 years experience in strategic innovation or technology consulting with Fortune 500 clients
- Proven expertise in scenario planning, trend analysis, and systems thinking methodologies
- Deep understanding of exponential technologies (AI, quantum computing, synthetic biology)
- Exceptional storytelling ability to translate complex futures into compelling narratives
- Certification in Strategic Foresight (e.g., from University of Houston or Copenhagen Institute) preferred
- Portfolio demonstrating published futures research or strategic foresight projects
- Experience leading cross-functional teams through multi-year transformation initiatives
