Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Assist the IT department with troubleshooting hardware and software issues for employees.
- System Maintenance: Monitor system performance and help implement updates and patches.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs and documentation of technical processes and solutions.
- Network Assistance: Support the configuration and maintenance of local and wide-area networks.
- Coding & Scripting: Write simple scripts to automate repetitive tasks and improve workflow efficiency.
- Project Assistance: Collaborate on small-scale development projects under the guidance of senior developers.
- User Training: Help train junior staff and new hires on basic software tools and protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS) and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Programming: Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript) is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical teams.
- Availability: Ability to commit to 20-30 hours per week during the Summer or Fall semester.
- Enthusiasm: A genuine interest in learning new technologies and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.
