This paid summer/fall internship offers hands-on experience in 24/7 infrastructure monitoring, cybersecurity support, and incident response. Responsibilities
- Monitor and troubleshoot network systems, servers, and cloud infrastructure during night shifts
- Respond to security alerts and document incident reports following SLA protocols
- Perform system maintenance tasks including patching, backups, and performance tuning
- Collaborate with global teams via ticketing systems for cross-functional support
- Automate routine tasks using Python/Shell scripting for operational efficiency
- Document processes and create knowledge base articles for team reference
- Participate in after-hours system deployments and maintenance windows
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in accredited college/university pursuing IT, Cybersecurity, or related degree
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Proficiency with Linux/Windows command-line interfaces
- Ability to work independently during night shift hours (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Strong written communication for incident reporting and documentation
- Available for 20-40 hours/week during summer/fall semester
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python/Bash) or willingness to learn
- CompTIA Security+ or similar certification preferred but not required
