Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and analyze network traffic for suspicious activity
- Assist in incident response documentation and forensic investigation
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing exercises
- Collaborate with SOC analysts on security event triage
- Update security documentation and maintain compliance logs
- Participate in red team simulations and threat hunting exercises
- Shadow senior engineers during live incident scenarios
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Interest in cybersecurity and willingness to learn new technologies
- Ability to work independently during night shift hours
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Available for full-time commitment (40 hours/week) during summer term
