Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain network security systems during night shifts, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and SIEM platforms
- Respond to security alerts and incidents, documenting actions taken and escalating critical issues to senior analysts
- Assist in vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits of client systems
- Support system administration tasks including patch management, user access provisioning, and backup verification
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls and remediate vulnerabilities
- Document security procedures, incident reports, and technical documentation using industry-standard formats
- Participate in regular security awareness training and knowledge-sharing sessions
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (Sophomore/Junior level preferred)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing/switching) and operating systems (Windows/Linux)
- Familiarity with security tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, or Metasploit (academic exposure acceptable)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to document technical procedures clearly
- Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision
- CompTIA Security+, Network+, or similar certification (in progress or planned)
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
