Are you a night owl looking for an exciting opportunity? Coastal Data Systems is currently seeking a dedicated Night Shift IT Operations Intern to join our growing team in Virginia Beach, VA. As an intern, you will play a crucial role in maintaining system stability and assisting our senior engineers during off-peak hours. This is a unique chance to jumpstart your career in a high-growth tech environment with a focus on night shift operations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor system performance and network traffic during evening and night hours to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues reported by remote and on-site teams.
- Perform routine software updates, patch management, and system backups.
- Document technical procedures and create knowledge base articles for night operations.
- Collaborate with the on-call team to resolve critical incidents and escalations.
- Conduct basic security audits and verify access permissions for off-hours personnel.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong interest in 24/7 operations and a demonstrated ability to work flexible night shift hours (e.g., 7:00 PM - 3:00 AM).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
