Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises
- Document incident response procedures and security event logs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on threat intelligence updates
- Assist in implementing zero-trust architecture components
- Participate in weekly security drills and tabletop exercises
- Generate comprehensive security audit reports
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in Computer Science/Cybersecurity program with 3.0+ GPA
- Basic understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Familiarity with Linux/Windows command-line interfaces
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours (10 PM - 6 AM)
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification preferred
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid California driver's license for occasional equipment retrieval
