Responsibilities
- Analyze complex datasets using Python, R, and SQL to derive actionable insights for government clients
- Develop predictive models and data visualizations using Tableau and Power BI
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on policy research initiatives
- Present findings to senior stakeholders through compelling data narratives
- Contribute to open-source data science projects with real-world applications
- Participate in weekly mentorship sessions and technical workshops
- Document methodologies and maintain reproducible analysis pipelines
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
- Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy) and SQL with portfolio examples
- Experience with statistical modeling and machine learning algorithms
- Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical insights for non-technical audiences
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib)
- Ability to work 20-25 hours/week during academic terms
- Authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship)
- Previous internship or academic project involving policy/government data preferred
