Responsibilities
- Design scalable quantum processor architectures with fault-tolerant qubit arrangements
- Develop error correction protocols for 1000+ qubit systems
- Create quantum-classical hybrid computing interfaces for enterprise applications
- Lead quantum algorithm optimization for pharmaceutical and materials discovery
- Architect cryogenic control systems with sub-millisecond latency requirements
- Establish quantum security frameworks for 2026-era data protection
- Mentor junior engineers in quantum engineering best practices
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Engineering, or related field (MS with 8+ years experience considered)
- Proven experience with superconducting qubit architectures or ion trap systems
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface, color, LDPC)
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Publishing record in Nature/Science or equivalent quantum computing journals
- Familiarity with quantum machine learning frameworks
- Experience leading quantum hardware projects with multi-million dollar budgets
- Clearance for DoD/NSF quantum research programs preferred
