Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Design and implement quantum error correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant computing
- Coordinate cross-functional teams of physicists, computer scientists, and hardware engineers
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical frameworks for near-term practical applications
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Secure government and private sector research grants totaling $10M+ annually
- Mentor PhD researchers and establish industry partnerships with quantum startups
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Theoretical Physics, or Computer Science with 8+ years industry experience
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent peer-reviewed quantum computing journals
- Expertise in quantum gate decomposition, circuit optimization, and topology
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Track record of securing NSF, DoD, or DARPA quantum research grants
- Experience leading teams in high-stakes R&D environments
- Deep understanding of decoherence mechanisms and cryogenic systems
