Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for optimization, cryptography, and simulation applications
- Architect error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams on quantum processor integration and benchmarking
- Develop strategic research roadmaps aligned with 2026 industry adoption forecasts
- Secure and manage $5M+ in federal and private research grants
- Mentor PhD-level researchers and publish in top-tier journals/conferences
- Partner with Fortune 500 companies on quantum pilot implementations
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 8+ years of quantum computing research with hardware/software integration
- Published work in Nature/Science or equivalent peer-reviewed venues
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Proven grant-writing experience with $1M+ funding secured
- Strong background in superconducting or photonic quantum systems
- Patent portfolio in quantum technologies preferred
- Experience leading cross-disciplinary technical teams
