Responsibilities
- Design and execute quantum computing research roadmaps targeting 2026 milestones
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing error-corrected quantum processors
- Secure federal and private research funding through compelling proposals
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation applications
- Publish high-impact research in Nature/Science journals
- Drive intellectual property strategy with 5+ patent filings annually
- Mentor PhD researchers and establish university partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum hardware/software development
- Proven track record of securing $5M+ in research grants
- Expertise in superconducting qubits or photonic quantum systems
- Published work in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Experience leading R&D teams of 10+ scientists
- Active Qiskit/Cirq programming proficiency
