Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy protocols on hybrid quantum-classical systems
- Develop error mitigation frameworks for fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors targeting 2026 performance milestones
- Author peer-reviewed publications and whitepapers on quantum computational advantage
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory and experimental methodology
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE grant proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years postdoctoral research
- Published work in Nature/Science/Physical Review X on quantum algorithms or error correction
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and classical HPC frameworks
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems or trapped-ion quantum processors
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical models into experimental protocols
- Strong background in computational complexity theory and quantum information theory
- Track record of securing competitive research grants
