Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop quantum error correction protocols for scalable quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate quantum software with physical qubits
- Secure research funding through NSF grants and industry partnerships
- Publish findings in Nature/Science journals and present at QIP conferences
- Mentor PhD researchers and develop quantum computing curriculum
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing quantum applications for finance and healthcare
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Expertise in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault tolerance
- Proficiency in high-performance computing and parallel programming
- Strong background in linear algebra and probability theory
- Experience securing federal research grants
