Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-corrected qubit architectures using superconducting and photonic systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype quantum processors with 1000+ qubits
- Lead research initiatives in quantum machine learning and cryptography
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at IEEE/APS conferences
- Secure $2M+ in research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum focus
- 3+ years experience with quantum computing frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent high-impact journals
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum simulation tools
- Strong background in quantum information theory and many-body physics
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research funding
- Experience mentoring quantum research teams
