Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead quantum circuit optimization projects targeting 100+ qubit systems
- Develop error mitigation protocols for NISQ-era quantum processors
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum-resistant cryptographic systems
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature Physics and IEEE journals
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq) and quantum information theory
- Secure $2M+ in government grants for quantum computing initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 3+ years industry experience
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological quantum computing
- Expertise in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Deep understanding of quantum hardware architectures (superconducting, trapped ion)
- Proven track record of securing NSF or DoE research grants
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Experience with cloud quantum computing platforms (IBM Quantum Experience, Amazon Braket)
