Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction protocols for NISQ-era quantum processors
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims using 100+ qubit systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum-classical hybrid architectures
- Author peer-reviewed publications and secure DOE/NASA research grants
- Mentor PhD interns on quantum information theory fundamentals
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published work in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, or IEEE PRA)
- Proficiency in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum hardware
- Strong background in high-performance computing and parallel processing
- Ability to secure external research funding through grant proposals
