Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental quantum computing projects using superconducting and photonic systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present at international quantum computing conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and develop quantum computing educational programs
- Secure external funding through NSF, DoE, and industry partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, or Cirq)
- Strong publication record in quantum information science or theoretical computer science
- Demonstrated experience with quantum simulation frameworks and error mitigation techniques
- Expertise in at least one classical high-performance computing framework (CUDA, MPI)
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams with physicists, engineers, and software developers
