Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the 2026 technology innovation roadmap, identifying breakthrough opportunities in AI, quantum computing, biotech, and space exploration
- Lead horizon scanning initiatives to detect emerging technologies with transformative potential
- Collaborate with product teams to integrate futuristic capabilities into commercial solutions
- Present strategic technology forecasts to executive stakeholders and board members
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions and research labs for technology co-development
- Manage innovation incubation programs, evaluating and accelerating prototype technologies
- Author thought leadership publications on technology trends and future scenarios
- Build and lead a specialized futurist R&D team of 8-10 technical specialists
Qualifications
- 15+ years in technology innovation with 5+ years in strategic futurism or technology forecasting
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Proven track record of successfully commercializing emerging technologies
- Deep expertise in at least three of these domains: AI/ML, quantum computing, nanotechnology, synthetic biology, or space tech
- Exceptional systems thinking with ability to map complex technological interdependencies
- Experience advising C-level executives on technology strategy and disruption scenarios
- Prior success building and leading high-impact technical research teams
- Published thought leader in technology futurism (e.g., IEEE Spectrum, MIT Tech Review)
