Nexus Future Labs is a premier research institution focused on building the foundational protocols for the Web3 ecosystem. As we accelerate our roadmap toward the 2026 vision of a fully interoperable decentralized internet, we are looking for a Senior Web3 Protocol Engineer to lead our smart contract development.
You will be responsible for designing secure, scalable smart contracts for our Layer 2 scaling solutions and DeFi protocols. This is a high-impact role where your code will secure millions of dollars in assets and define the standards for the next generation of financial applications.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, high-performance smart contracts using Solidity and Rust.
- Conduct rigorous code audits and security reviews to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities before mainnet deployment.
- Optimize transaction throughput and reduce gas costs for users across the ecosystem.
- Collaborate with the research team to design novel consensus mechanisms and cryptographic primitives.
- Mentor junior developers and establish coding standards and best practices within the engineering team.
- Participate in community governance and communicate technical updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years specifically in Blockchain/Web3 development.
- Deep proficiency in Solidity and Rust, with a proven track record of deploying production-grade smart contracts.
- Strong understanding of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) internals and off-chain indexing solutions.
- Experience with Zero-Knowledge Proofs (zk-SNARKs/zk-STARKs) is a major plus.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Hardhat, Foundry, or Truffle.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
