CivicLogic Inc. is seeking a motivated Software Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team in Washington, DC. As an intern, you will work on high-impact projects that improve government services and community engagement. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity for Summer 2024.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about coding and eager to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain: Write clean, scalable code for web applications using modern frameworks (React, Node.js, or Python).
- Collaborate: Work closely with senior engineers and product managers to define feature requirements and technical specifications.
- Debug & Optimize: Identify and resolve software defects, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities.
- Testing: Assist in creating and executing unit tests and integration tests to ensure software reliability.
- Documentation: Contribute to technical documentation, API guides, and user manuals.
- Research: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) and a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Web Development: Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and version control systems like Git.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
