We are looking for a motivated and talented Summer/Fall 2024 Intern to join our growing team in Chicago, Illinois. At Apex Innovations, we believe in nurturing the next generation of tech leaders. As an intern, you will work alongside senior engineers on cutting-edge projects, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
What you will do:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions.
• Assist in the development and testing of web and mobile applications.
• Participate in code reviews and agile ceremonies (sprints, stand-ups).
• Debug and optimize application performance.
• Document technical specifications and user stories.
Who we are looking for:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (graduating Summer/Fall 2024).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, or JavaScript preferred).
• Basic understanding of databases (SQL) and version control (Git).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with software engineers to design and develop scalable web applications.
- Assist in writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint planning meetings.
- Conduct unit testing and identify bugs within the existing codebase.
- Support the deployment of software releases to production environments.
- Learn and apply industry best practices in software development.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program (Class of 2024 or 2025).
- Strong foundation in computer science principles (data structures, algorithms).
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must be available to start Summer/Fall 2024.
