Are you a motivated college student ready to kickstart your career in the tech industry? Portland Digital Solutions is seeking a dedicated Summer Intern for our Weekend Operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on technical experience, earn valuable college credit, and work alongside industry professionals in the heart of Portland.
As a Weekend Shift Intern, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our systems and supporting our team during off-peak hours. You will work directly with our senior engineers to learn the ropes of enterprise-level IT support and infrastructure management.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure during weekend shifts to ensure 99.9% system uptime.
- Provide Tier 1 technical support and troubleshooting for internal staff and external clients.
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and testing of software updates and security patches.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, and incident reports in our centralized knowledge base.
- Collaborate with the full-time operations team to optimize weekend workflows and processes.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and weekly review meetings to align on project goals.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or associate’s degree program (Junior or Senior standing preferred).
- Strong interest in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Network Engineering.
- Basic knowledge of Windows, Linux, or macOS operating systems and networking concepts.
- Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) during the summer session.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-centric attitude.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
