As a Youth Camp Counselor Intern, you'll work with diverse groups of children ages 6-14 in outdoor recreation, arts, and educational activities. Responsibilities
- Facilitate daily camp activities including sports, arts & crafts, and STEM projects
- Ensure camper safety through constant supervision and adherence to protocols
- Lead small-group sessions and mentor campers in age-appropriate challenges
- Assist in planning and executing themed weekly camp programs
- Maintain organized activity spaces and supply inventory
- Collaborate with senior staff on camper progress and incident reporting
- Participate in daily team briefings and end-of-day debriefs
Qualifications
- Must be 15-18 years old and enrolled in high school
- Passionate about working with children and outdoor activities
- Available full-time (Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM) for 8-10 weeks
- Ability to stand/walk for 6+ hours daily in outdoor conditions
- Strong communication skills and positive attitude
- Reliable transportation to camp location in Dallas
- Basic first aid certification preferred (training provided)
- Must pass background check and drug screening
