Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems during overnight shifts
- Analyze network traffic patterns and identify potential security threats
- Document and escalate security incidents according to protocol
- Perform vulnerability scans on production systems during maintenance windows
- Assist with patch management and system hardening procedures
- Participate in tabletop security simulations and incident response drills
- Update security documentation and knowledge base articles
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Familiarity with Linux/Windows command-line interfaces
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Relevant coursework or personal projects in security fundamentals
- Available for full-time summer commitment (40 hours/week)
- CompTIA Security+ or similar certification preferred
