This dynamic summer internship offers the perfect opportunity to work directly with Mesa's vibrant small business community while developing valuable marketing and communication skills. We're seeking motivated students passionate about supporting local economies and building professional connections in Arizona's fastest-growing tech hub.
As a key member of our outreach team, you'll collaborate with local entrepreneurs, organize community events, and implement digital marketing campaigns that drive foot traffic to Mesa's beloved local businesses. This part-time internship (20-25 hours/week) runs from June through August with flexible scheduling around your academic commitments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis for Mesa-based businesses
- Develop and distribute promotional materials for local events and promotions
- Manage social media accounts and create engaging content for community platforms
- Assist in organizing pop-up markets and neighborhood business showcases
- Build and maintain relationships with local business owners and community stakeholders
- Track campaign performance metrics and prepare weekly progress reports
- Support the creation of 'Shop Local Mesa' digital directory listings
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings and strategy sessions
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with focus on Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
- Basic knowledge of Canva, Google Analytics, or similar tools
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Enthusiasm for local business ecosystems and community engagement
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel
- Availability to work 20-25 hours/week from June through August
