Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth legislative research using official government databases and academic resources
- Analyze policy trends and draft concise briefing memos for senior advisors
- Assist in preparing testimony and reports for congressional hearings
- Monitor committee hearings and floor proceedings for key policy developments
- Support stakeholder outreach through communications and meeting coordination
- Maintain organized digital repositories of policy documents and research findings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, or related field
- Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Interest in federal legislative process and policy development
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Available 20-25 hours per week during summer term (June-August)
- US citizenship or permanent residency required
