Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems and alerts in real-time to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on internal networks.
- Assist in the investigation and documentation of security incidents and breaches.
- Support compliance audits and ensure adherence to federal security standards (NIST, FISMA).
- Analyze log data to identify suspicious activity and recommend mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and basic scripting (Python/Bash).
- Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm) is a plus.
- Ability to obtain a government background check or security clearance (Preferred).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
