Responsibilities
- Lead horizon scanning and trend analysis for emerging technologies (quantum computing, biotech integration, neural interfaces)
- Develop 5-year technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives and market disruption forecasts
- Architect R&D frameworks for prototype development of next-gen systems (AR/VR, autonomous AI agents)
- Partner with VPs of Product and Engineering to prioritize innovation portfolios
- Present strategic briefings to C-suite and external stakeholders
- Manage $5M+ innovation budgets with ROI-focused KPIs
- Curate partnerships with academic labs and startups in emerging tech ecosystems
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic technology planning or R&D leadership
- Proven track record commercializing emerging technologies (3+ products)
- Expertise in futures methodology (scenario planning, Delphi analysis)
- Deep understanding of quantum computing, synthetic biology, or neuromorphic systems
- Strong background in AI/ML deployment at enterprise scale
- Experience leading cross-functional teams through ambiguous innovation cycles
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Certification in Strategic Foresight or Technology Assessment preferred
