Responsibilities
- Conduct legislative research and draft policy briefings for congressional clients
- Monitor congressional hearings and committee markups for key developments
- Assist in preparing testimony and advocacy materials for public hearings
- Coordinate stakeholder meetings and track correspondence with federal agencies
- Analyze regulatory impacts and summarize findings in executive summaries
- Support event logistics for policy forums and constituent outreach initiatives
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program (junior/senior standing preferred)
- Strong academic record (3.0 GPA minimum) in political science, public policy, or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)
- Exceptional written communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines
- Knowledge of U.S. legislative process and federal structure
- Must receive academic credit for internship participation
