Responsibilities
- Conduct legislative research and draft policy briefs for congressional committees
- Organize and manage stakeholder meetings with advocacy groups and government agencies
- Analyze proposed legislation and prepare impact assessments for senior advisors
- Support communications team in preparing press releases and social media content
- Assist with event coordination for policy forums and legislative hearings
- Track federal regulations and maintain comprehensive policy databases
- Collaborate with interns from partner universities on cross-functional projects
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in accredited undergraduate or graduate program (junior/senior preferred)
- Major in Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, or related field
- Strong writing skills with samples of academic or professional work
- Familiarity with Capitol Hill operations or government processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and research databases (LexisNexis, CQ)
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Authorization to work in the United States (J-1 visa sponsorship available for international students)
- Must receive academic credit for internship participation
