Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research on federal legislation and regulatory frameworks using LexisNexis and GovTrack databases
- Analyze policy impacts and draft concise memoranda for congressional stakeholders
- Support development of evidence-based policy recommendations for healthcare and education initiatives
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to prepare legislative testimony and hearing materials
- Monitor congressional hearings and committee markups to identify emerging policy trends
- Assist in stakeholder mapping and communication strategy development for advocacy campaigns
- Contribute to weekly policy briefs distributed to agency partners and congressional offices
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field
- Minimum 3.2 GPA and ability to arrange for college credit through your institution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic data visualization tools
- Strong analytical writing skills with portfolio of academic or professional writing samples
- Understanding of U.S. legislative process and federal agency structures
- Excellent communication abilities for stakeholder interactions and presentations
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Availability for 20-30 hours/week during summer semester (June-August)
