Job Description
Join QuantumLeap Labs at the forefront of quantum innovation. We're pioneering breakthroughs in quantum algorithms and error correction that will redefine computing by 2026. As a Research Scientist, you'll collaborate with Nobel laureates and MIT PhDs to solve humanity's most complex challenges in cryptography, drug discovery, and AI optimization. Our state-of-the-art facility in San Francisco offers unparalleled resources including 256-qubit quantum processors and dedicated simulation labs.
We value intellectual curiosity as much as technical expertise. You'll publish in Nature Physics and present at IEEE Quantum Week while mentoring the next generation of quantum engineers. This role includes 20% R&D budget autonomy and quarterly innovation sabbaticals.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Lead cross-functional projects with AI and materials science teams
- Publish peer-reviewed research and secure NSF/DARPA grants
- Mentor junior researchers and quantum engineering interns
- Contribute to open-source quantum frameworks like Qiskit and Cirq
- Present findings at international quantum computing conferences
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum focus
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum gate-based systems
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, or PyQuil)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or error correction
- Strong background in linear algebra, complex analysis, and information theory
- Experience with high-performance computing environments
- Ability to translate complex quantum concepts for technical and non-technical stakeholders
