Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for real-world applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in translating quantum theory to production systems
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present at IEEE/ACM conferences
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum circuit performance
- Develop patentable methodologies for error correction and qubit stability
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum computing principles
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from NSF/DoD partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum information theory
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum mechanics principles at graduate level
- Experience with superconducting or ion-trap quantum systems
- Track record of translating theoretical models to experimental validation
- Security clearance eligibility (preferred for government-funded projects)
