Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for real-world applications
- Lead experimental quantum computing projects using superconducting qubits
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals like Nature Physics
- Mentor PhD candidates and cross-functional engineering teams
- Secure $1M+ in federal research grants (NIAR/NIST partnerships)
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with Intel/IBM on quantum hardware integration
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent research)
- 3+ years experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit)
- Published work in quantum information theory or topological computing
- Expertise in quantum error correction and decoherence mitigation
- Strong Python/C++ skills for high-performance simulations
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems (Dilution refrigerators)
- Proven track record of securing government research funding
