Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction protocols for quantum processors operating at 100+ qubit scales
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to prototype superconducting and photonic quantum systems
- Lead cross-functional research initiatives with MIT, Caltech, and CERN partners
- Publish findings in Nature Physics/Science and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor PhD candidates and patent 3+ quantum computing innovations annually
- Secure $2M+ in DARPA/NSF quantum research grants
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years of quantum algorithm development experience with proven publications
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or quantum circuit optimization frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency with Python, C++, and quantum simulation tools like Q#
- Experience with cryogenic systems and quantum control electronics
- Track record of securing federal research grants
- Strong background in quantum machine learning or quantum cryptography
