Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to overcome quantum decoherence and error correction challenges
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals and leading conferences
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum applications for real-world problems
- Secure $2M+ in research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
- Contribute to open-source quantum computing frameworks
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years quantum research experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published papers in Nature/Science or top-tier quantum conferences
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Experience with cryogenic quantum hardware (D-Wave, IBM Q)
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex analysis
- Proven ability to secure federal research funding
