Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Lead research projects focused on error correction, qubit stability, and quantum supremacy demonstrations
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical frameworks for practical enterprise solutions
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate theoretical models into implementable quantum circuits
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at international quantum computing conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to open-source quantum development initiatives
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of quantum research experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and classical optimization frameworks
- Published record in top-tier quantum computing journals or conferences
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction protocols and fault-tolerant architectures
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and complexity analysis
- Ability to translate complex quantum concepts for technical and non-technical stakeholders
