We seek a visionary Quantum Computing Research Scientist to develop scalable quantum algorithms and hybrid quantum-classical systems. You'll collaborate with Nobel laureates and industry disruptors in our state-of-the-art Austin facility, working with superconducting qubits and photonic processors to solve previously unsolvable problems in cryptography, materials science, and AI optimization.
What you'll achieve: Design error-corrected quantum architectures, publish in Nature Physics, and contribute to our roadmap for quantum advantage by 2026. This role includes equity participation and access to our $500M quantum computing infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Implement quantum error correction protocols on 100+ qubit systems
- Lead cross-functional projects with AI and materials science teams
- Secure $2M+ in federal research grants by 2026
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers in quantum information theory
- Author patents for proprietary quantum gate architectures
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with superconducting qubits or photonic systems
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or quantum circuit simulation frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research grants
- Expertise in tensor networks or quantum machine learning
