Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum computing architectures using IBM Q and Rigetti systems
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams to hybridize classical-quantum computational models
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at IEEE Quantum Week and ACM conferences
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum physics and computational theory
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants from NSF and DARPA
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research with superconducting qubits
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Published record in Nature/Science or IEEE Transactions on Quantum Engineering
- Expertise in quantum error correction and topological quantum computing
- Strong background in machine learning and high-performance computing
- Ability to secure competitive research funding
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government contracts
