Join our award-winning environmental research team at the Sonoran Ecosystems Institute! We're seeking passionate interns to contribute to our desert conservation projects this summer. Responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys of native desert flora/fauna using GPS and scientific protocols
- Analyze water quality samples and soil composition data in our lab
- Assist with habitat restoration projects including native plant propagation
- Document wildlife observations using camera traps and field journals
- Create data visualizations and contribute to research reports
- Participate in community outreach events at Saguaro National Park
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in environmental science, biology, or related program
- Basic knowledge of desert ecosystems and native species
- Ability to work outdoors in Tucson summer conditions (heat tolerant)
- Strong attention to detail for data collection and documentation
- Valid driver's license with clean record for field transport
- Experience with Excel or basic data analysis software
- Available 20-30 hours/week between June-August (flexible start)
