Join the Night Shift Team at San Antonio Medical Center
We are currently seeking motivated Summer Interns to support our critical 24/7 operations. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment while enjoying the flexibility of evening hours.
As a Summer Intern on the Night Shift, you will work closely with our experienced nursing and administrative staff to ensure our patients receive the highest level of care around the clock. We offer mentorship, a competitive stipend, and a chance to build a resume that stands out.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient intake and data entry in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff immediately.
- Support the night shift team with inventory management and supply restocking.
- Prepare and organize patient charts and medical documentation for the next shift.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the patient care areas during the night.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a High School Diploma program or pursuing an Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, specifically during evening/night shifts (e.g., 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort with using technology in a medical setting.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate attitude toward patients and colleagues.
