Responsibilities
- Conduct research on local ordinances and community development projects
- Assist in drafting policy briefs and council meeting materials
- Support community outreach initiatives and public engagement events
- Analyze demographic and socioeconomic data for urban planning
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on sustainability initiatives
- Document meeting proceedings and maintain accurate records
- Participate in weekly professional development workshops
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program
- Strong academic standing (minimum 3.0 GPA preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Interest in public policy, urban planning, or government affairs
- Ability to work 15-20 hours per week during summer months
- Valid driver's license (for occasional off-site meetings)
- Experience with data analysis tools a plus
