Responsibilities
- Develop 3-year technology roadmaps for 2026 commercialization in AI ethics, decentralized infrastructure, and biotech integration
- Lead cross-functional sprints prototyping next-gen human-machine interfaces and autonomous systems
- Analyze emerging tech vectors (quantum, synthetic biology, climate AI) for market disruption opportunities
- Secure $2M+ annual R&D budget through compelling stakeholder presentations and ROI models
- Mentor junior innovators in futures thinking methodologies and rapid prototyping frameworks
- Collaborate with MIT Media Lab and NASA JPL on 2026-focused innovation challenges
- Publish annual 'State of 2026' whitepapers positioning FuturaLabs as thought leadership
Qualifications
- MS/PhD in Computer Science, Bioengineering, or Futuristics with 8+ years in R&D leadership
- Proven track record launching at least two commercialized technologies with $50M+ market impact
- Deep expertise in at least two of: quantum machine learning, neuro-interfaces, or climate modeling
- Portfolio demonstrating 2026-focused projects (published patents, TED talks, or industry awards)
- Fluency in futures forecasting tools (Horizon Scanning, Delphi Method, System Dynamics)
- Experience securing government grants (DARPA, NSF) and corporate innovation partnerships
- Exceptional communication skills translating complex tech to C-suite and public audiences
