Responsibilities
- Design and execute quantum-AI research roadmap targeting 2026 commercial applications
- Lead 12-person cross-functional team in developing fault-tolerant quantum neural networks
- Secure $5M+ annual research funding through DARPA/NSF grant applications
- Collaborate with MIT/Caltech on quantum-optimized ML architectures
- Translate theoretical breakthroughs into patentable IP (target: 8+ patents/year)
- Present findings at IEEE Quantum Week and Nature Technology Summits
- Mentor PhD researchers and publish in top-tier journals (Science/Nature)
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Theoretical Physics, or Computational Mathematics
- 5+ years leading quantum/AI R&D teams with published breakthroughs
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Proven track record of securing federal research grants ($2M+)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and NISQ limitations
- Experience with quantum machine learning algorithms (QAOA, VQE)
- Strong background in topological quantum computing architectures
- Excellent communication skills for technical and executive audiences
