Responsibilities
- Develop and implement AI ethics policies, governance frameworks, and compliance protocols aligned with emerging regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF)
- Conduct risk assessments for AI systems, identifying potential biases, fairness issues, and societal impacts
- Partner with data scientists and engineers to integrate ethical design principles into AI development pipelines
- Monitor AI deployments for ethical compliance and recommend corrective actions
- Lead stakeholder engagements across departments to promote ethical AI practices
- Stay ahead of regulatory trends and update governance strategies proactively
- Create audit trails and documentation for AI decision-making processes
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Ethics, Philosophy, Law, Computer Science, or related field; PhD preferred
- 5+ years in AI governance, ethics, or compliance with tech industry experience
- Deep expertise in AI ethics frameworks (e.g., IEEE Ethically Aligned Design, ACM Code of Ethics)
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating complex ethical scenarios and proposing actionable solutions
- Certification in AI governance (e.g., from IEEE, ACM, or similar) is highly desirable
- Experience with regulatory bodies (e.g., FTC, ECHA) and compliance reporting
- Exceptional communication skills to articulate ethical concepts to diverse audiences
