Responsibilities
- Develop predictive models using Python, R, and SQL to analyze public policy datasets
- Create interactive data visualizations for congressional briefings and stakeholder reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex data into actionable recommendations
- Conduct A/B testing on policy interventions using causal inference methodologies
- Present findings to senior analysts and agency partners through polished dashboards
- Document methodologies and maintain reproducible research pipelines
- Participate in weekly data science workshops and hackathons
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Public Policy, or related field
- Proficiency in Python (Pandas, Scikit-learn) and R (tidyverse)
- Experience with SQL and relational databases
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and experimental design
- Strong communication skills for translating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Portfolio demonstrating data analysis projects (GitHub or personal website)
- Authorization to work in the United States for the internship duration
- Availability for 20-40 hours/week during summer or fall term
